NUTRITION AS A PROFESSIONAL

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear Diet or Nutrition?

Probably weight loss, cutting calories, because the Holiday Parties dragged on a little too long.

You probably think about what you have to LOSE.

Not what you have to gain.

We have a big problem today. 75% of our population falls into the category of obese or overweight. As we get out of high school, college, and our 20's, our metabolisms really don't change that much. Our habits and activity levels do. We swap activities and sports for more time in a cubicle. Leading us to the situation we face today.

It isn't an information issue either. There is more awareness about macros and diet than ever before. Most people have a gym membership. Yet, more people are struggling than ever before.

If you are a hard charging professional or executive, chances are you fall victim to the "all or nothing" mentality.

If it isn't 5am max effort, 2 hour workouts; it is no workout at all. If it isn't a soul crushing "challenge" diet that is unsustainable after two weeks, it is a mindless bender of whatever goes. Because if stars aren't aligned and everything laid out perfectly, it isn't worth doing, right?

Wrong. And we know that. We know 20 minutes of walking when we have time is better than nothing. We all just have a tough time implementing it.

At the end of the day, consistency trumps intensity. A lifestyle will give you more success in 10 years than a 75 Day rigorous challenge you restart 8 times, ever will.

Instead of looking at nutrition as a vehicle for "losing."

Let's reframe it with everything you will have to gain from creating a lifestyle with nutrition:

-An edge over the competition: Your brain RELIES on macro and micronutrients to thrive. If you are 20% more hydrated, your brain capacity and productivity will skyrocket. Getting blood work done and adjusting your diet to shore up nutritional deficiencies like Vitamin D, B-Vitamins, and Zinc will cut your sick days in half. It will allow you to have more energy, and be more present in every endeavor you take on.

-You WILL make more money: There are secrets in silicon valley you have no idea about. Tech gurus, authors, surgeons who implement specific brain boosting supplement routines, nutritional strategies that clear the mental cobwebs and improve productivity by 50%.

-A BETTER quality of life: You are looking at life through a straw if your health is suffering. The capacity to lead, be present, and adaptable is non-existent if you are barely keeping your head above water. We all like to put health on the back burner, until it burns us, and it becomes our only focus.

More energy, vitality, self-image, confidence, mental capacity never hurt anyone. The edge in life you are looking for is in the work you aren't currently doing. You have everything to gain, zero to lose by prioritizing your health, your nutrition, your hormones, and your training. The opportunity to change your outlook on life is contingent on your health status.
